November Menu: Don’t Wait!

We are now taking orders for November. If you have been a customer for a while, you probably remember that the order period for November is squeezed due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. The order deadline comes earlier than normal (Wednesday, November 11th) and Distribution Day comes earlier as well (Saturday, November 21st) to avoid holiday conflicts. So don’t procrastinate or you might miss out! Here is a link to the November flyer.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Don’t forget the holiday menu! My family did this last year. This is especially nice if you have multiple holiday gatherings. You can still make that BIG homemade meal on Thanksgiving Day, but you can whip this out for the little party you have for over the weekend for those who couldn’t be there on Thursday. It’s delicious.

You can now pre-order a Thanksgiving Dinner box for only $36. To be delivered the Saturday before Thanksgiving, this includes:

7 lb. (avg.)Perdue Roaster
2.5 lb. Boneless Netted Ham
2 lb. Frozen Diced Sweet Potatoes
3.5 lb. (avg.) Frozen Corn Cobetts (12)
2 lb. Frozen Green Beans
1 lb. Frozen Cranberries
17 oz. Ready to Cook Corn Bread Dressing
8 ct. Heat and Serve Large Dinner Roll

You can place your order now through the October ordering period. Regardless, the Thanksgiving boxes will be delivered on November 21st.

October Ordering Underway

Don’t forget that our AFM Hotline number has changed. It is now 225-590-3605. The old number will remind you this month, but after that, the old number will be disconneted. So make a note of the new number!

New Hotline Number

Beginning Sunday, September 27th, the AFM@Graceworks Hotline will change to 225-590-3605. There, you can get up-to-date information on the AFM schedule and the host site address. More importantly, you can leave a message, and you will be contacted to answer your questions or even place an order using a credit/debit or EBT card.

That new number again is 225-590-3605. Please make a note of it.

Change Is Good

Change is so… constant! In the last few months, we have seen Angel Food drop the Signature Box requirement for purchasing specials. We have seen them extend the online order deadline to Mondays… and then Fridays. What next?

For now, October is next. The extended period for September has closed. (However, I hoarded a few items in case you want to place a “late” order.) Distribution for September is right around the corner on Saturday, September 26th, but you can go ahead with those October orders. I have updated the links so you can see the menu and place your order quickly.

Order Deadline Extended

We just got news from AFM Headquarters this morning that the order deadline for September has been EXTENDED until Friday, September 18th at 11:00 am CDT. This is completely unexpected, but appreciated. We are perfectly capable of handling more orders this week. Therefore, if you’ve been waiting until payday or you just let the original deadline slip away, now is your chance! Place your order online using the link to the right or call us at 225-612-8708 to place an order by phone.

September Menu

The September menu is now up and we are taking orders through Monday, September 14th. The links have been updated so you can place your order directly from this web site. Also, note that online ordering has now been extended to the Monday (as opposed to the Sunday deadline we’ve used in the past.) Last Chance!

Today, Monday August 17th, is the last day for placing an Angel Food order for August. You can no longer place an order for August online, but we can. Just leave us a message on the AFM@Graceworks Hotline if you want to get in under the wire at 225-612-8708. If you don’t read this until after the deadline, call us anyway. We always order extras.

Big Changes in August

Sometimes things at AFM get a little routine… another month, another steak special. But this month, there is a LOT going on. So please read this entire message to keep up with the latest.

The biggest news is this: You can now purchase AFM Specials without purchasing a Regular Box. In the past, the requirements of purchasing what we now call the “Signature Box” have been an impedement to many of our customers. I have had many people tell me that they would love a fruit & veggie box or a T-bone box but they just don’t need another round of staples as the freezer is still full from the previous month. Well, your feedback has been heard and AFM has acted. Whether you purchase online, by phone, or in person, you will not be required to purcahse a Signature Box to claim your specials. So take a look at the August Specials and know that you can order what you want and ONLY what you want.

Next, we have changed our on-site order day to Sundays. If you have been dropping by Graceworks Church on Mondays to place your order, we are no longer doing that. We will still be there in person to process your order, but we will be there on a Sunday afternoon instead of Monday. Check the flyer for the exact day and time. Remember. If you want to order in person and this does not meet your needs, call us on the AFM Hotline at 225-612-8708 and we will make arrangements to take your order.

I know some of you like the Allergen-Free Box for a variety of reasons. In August, the Allergen-Free Box has been expanded to include more items, including some things like pancake and muffin mix. Naturally, the price has expanded with it, but now there will be more allergen-free items available for your pantry.

Finally, thank you so much for your participation in our Christmas in July promotion. We have a lot of fun on Saturday sporting the Santa hat and being jolly, but you guys were the real blessings giving away more than 40 units of food! Now, that’s a community I want to live in. If you missed out, hey, don’t wait for a promotion. You can bless your family, friends, and neighbors (or even perfect strangers) with a box of food at any time. And now you don’t have to order a Signature Box to do it. How about that? Do you know someone who would like a fruit box or a box of steaks? Sure you do!

Beginning in the August order period, Angel Food Ministries will now allow customers to order Specials without ordering a Signature Box. You like the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Box, but you don’t need the Signature Box? No problem! Your freezer is full, but you wouldn’t mind tossing in a box of T-Bones? No problem! Thanks to AFM, you can now order what you want when you want. We are taking orders for August… NOW!
